Pop-Ups are one of the best ways of creating a meaningful experience for your brand. It is the most effective way to get in front of your audience to talk about/show off your pieces quality, meaning, and showcase who you are as an entrepreneur. I have had two pop up experiences thus far and am writing this to share my key take aways
“Sneaker Con” type events:
- BE THERE EARLY
- get established before anyone else gets there so you're not rushing
- looks unprofessional if you are late
- Introduce yourself to vendors around you
- ease the awkwardness
- great networking opportunities
- ex: I had no intention of buying anything, but I went up to everyone and asked “what do you have in size 13”. Way to easily break the ice and start a conversation about your brand/who you are
- Don’t be a car salesman, but at least say “what's up” to people passing by or “how are you doing man?”
- Don’t want to have the reputation of being the overly salesy
- On the contrary, don’t be awkward and just stand there
- if you say something people will feel awkward and stop
- DO SOMETHING UNIQUE AT YOUR BOOTH
- every booth looked the same
- stand out
